Manuel Silva III Obituary

Manuel Kenneth Silva III, 72, of Roma Street passed away on May 9, 2020 at home. He was the husband of Darlene A. (Dubord) Silva his wife of 38 years who he affectionately called Pumpkin Head.  

Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Manuel L. Silva Jr and Mary P. (Botelho) Silva. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Paul Silva and Scott Silva both of New York.  He was the brother of Nancy D. Rotondo of North Providence, Dennis A. Silva of Florida, Kevin R. Silva of Bristol and the late Lawrence J. Silva.  He also leaves behind his Rat Terrier Daphne who was by his side when he passed away.

Mr. Silva was educated in Warren and self employed as a carpenter for 30 years.  One of his favorite childhood memories was of visiting Salty Brine and his collie Jeff on the television set where his show was filmed with his Boy Scout Troop.  He loved to talk about Mrs. Lyons and the Irish maids at Blithewold Mansion where he spent time with his grandfather who was the caretaker there for over 40 years.  He was a member of the Warren Indian Band as well as the RI Matadors and played rhythm guitar and harmonica with the bands “Southern Comfort” and “Rustic Outlaws” performing at the 4th of July Beer Festival and on the same stage as “Eddie Zack and the Hayloft Jamboree”.   A piece of his sculpture was voted Best of Show and First Place at the 1999 Annual Warren Art (Quahog) Festival.   His favorite actor was Clint Eastwood and favorite movie was Unforgiven.  He loved WWE Wrestling, Drew McIntyre, cowboy hats, boots and jeans.

His funeral services will be private.
