Manuel Leonard Branquinho Soares, 62, of St. Elizabeth Street passed away on October 26, 2021 at home.   

Born in Aqua do Pau, St. Michael, Azores, he was son of the late Jose Joaquim Soares and Maria doCarmo Branquinho Soares.  He is survived by his loving companion, Lisa Lawrence of Bristol; his children, Mandy Soares of Bristol and Kevin Soares of Bristol; her children Michael Donadio (Christine); Victoria Donadio and grandchildren Rylee Lynn Rogers, Matthew Donadio and Caden Castillo.  He was the brother of Jose Soares (Natalie) and the late Margarida Soares.  He is also survived by his aunt, Maria Almerinda Flora and his uncles, Edmund Barboza and Carlos “Charlie” Barboza as well as many cousins.

Mr. Soares was educated in Portugal and was employed by American Tourister as well as DaPonte Landscaping before retiring.

Calling hours are Saturday, October 30th, 10 – 11:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 12 PM AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
