Maria Gloria (Pavao) Castro

Maria Gloria (Pavao) Castro of San Juan Drive passed away on April 1, 2021at home.  She was the wife of the late Deodato Oliveira Castro.

Born in Feteiras do Sul, St. Michael, Azores, she was daughter of the late Manuel J. Pavao, Jr. and Maria Jose (Almeida) Pavao,.  She is survived by her daughter Maggie Bernard and her husband David of Bristol; grandchildren: David Bernard Jr. and his wife Jennifer; Peter Bernard and his fiancée Jennifer St. Vincent; and great grandchildren: Lincoln David Bernard, Peter Michael Bernard, Jr. and Owen Reed Bernard.  She was the sister of Maria “Phoebe” Owens and Manuel Pavao.

Mrs. Castro was educated in Portugal and employed by the former Smith Manufacturing, Converse and PF Industries.
  
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 7th, 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
