Maria Jose (Furtado) Aguiar Obituary

Maria Jose (Furtado) Aguiar, 88, of Bay View Avenue passed away on May 21, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice.  She was the wife of the late Fernando Ferreira Aguiar.  


 Born in Povacao, St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Furtado Loras and Maria deGloria Ferreira Simoes.  She is survived by her sons Fernando Aguiar of Toronto, Canada; Carlos Aguiar of Bristol; Walter Aguiar of Bristol; and grandchildren Jason Aguiar, Cassandra Aguiar, Chelsea Aguair and Kate-Lynn Aguiar.  She was the sister of Maria daGloria Ferreira Amaral and the late Maria doEsperito Santo Ferreria Amaral, Germano Ferreira, Manuel Ferreira Amaral, Gil Ferreira Amaral, Maria Camilla Ferreira Amaral and Idalina Ferreira Amaral.


Mrs. Aguiar was educated in Portugal and employed by American Tourister before retiring.


Her funeral services will be held Friday, May 28th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, day, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
