Maria Jose Medeiros, 93, formerly of Bayview Avenue, passed away on March 23, 2024, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.  She was the wife of the late Guilherme B. de Medeiros.

Born in Mosteiros, São Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late João Jr. and Maria (da Matos) do Couto.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews: João M. Couto of Bristol, Jose G. Couto of New Jersey, Shaun Couto of Bristol, Derek Couto of Bristol, Siobhan Couto of Bristol, Kayla Cordeiro of New Jersey, Brittnay Couto of New Jersey, Alexandra Couto of New Jersey, Lino Couto of Canada, and Bibbs Couto of Canada.  She was the sister of the late Manuel do Couto, João Alberto, and Jose do Couto.

Mrs. Medeiros was educated in Portugal. In Portugal, she was a seamstress and taught sewing. She worked for Carol Cable for 20 years until retiring in 1992.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, March 26th, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
