Maria L. Soares

Maria Lassalette (Viera) Soares, 76, of Hope Street, passed away on November 3, 2025, at home. She was the wife of the late Luis M. Soares.

Born in Terceira, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Alice Viera. She is survived by her children: Robert Soares of Bristol, and Sandra Allen of Bristol; grandchildren: Matthew Soares, Angelina Soares, and Amanda Soares; great-grandchildren: Arianna da Luz and Allesio da Luz; and sisters Odette Spendler and Analia Soares.

She was predeceased by her sister, Ilda dos Santos.

Mrs. Soares was educated in Portugal. She was a housekeeper who worked with many in the Barrington community.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, November 7, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Calling hours are Thursday, 4 – 7 PM, from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street.
