Maria Ana Resendes

Maria Ana Resendes, 102, formerly of Sherry Avenue, passed away on February 6, 2026, at Grace Barker Nursing Home.

Born in Cabouço, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio M. and Maria Madelina (Sousa) Resendes. She is survived by her siblings: Jose N. Resendes of Bristol and Luisa Lima of Cabouço, Lagoa, St. Michael; and nieces and nephews: Virginia Tavares, Edwin Resendes, Louis Resendes, Jorgina Lombardo, John Resendes, Lucia Micheletti, Manual Tavares, Joseph Tavares, Adriano Tavares, Maria Tavares, Dorothy Sherman, Joesph Resendes, Diane Belanger, Ana Maria Ponte, Lucia Teixeira, Humberto Lima, Mario Lima, and John Lima.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Manuel R. Resendes, Virginia Faria, Olivia Tavares; and nephews: Peter Resendes and Jose R. Lima.

Ms. Resendes was educated in Portugal. She was employed by I Shalom for 5 years, and then Rhode Island Hospital for 14 years before retiring.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Willows Assisted Living and Grace Barker Nursing Home for their dedication to Mrs. Resendes’ care.

Her funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 8:30 – 9:30 AM from the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
