Maria do Carmo (Barbosa) Soares

Maria do Carmo (Barbosa) Soares, 86, of Silver Creek Manor passed away on December 13, 2019.   She was the wife of the late Jose Joaquim Soares.  

Born in Agua do Pau, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Maria de Lurdes (Branquinho) Barbosa.  She is survived by her sons Joe Soares and his wife Natalie of Riverside and Manuel Soares of Bristol; grandchildren Mandy Soares and Kevin Soares and great granddaughter Riley Soares.  She was the sister of Maria A. Flora, Edmund Barbosa and Carlos Barbosa.

Mrs. Barbosa was educated in Portugal and employed by American Tourister before retiring.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 24th, 9 – 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
