Maria Teresa (Contente) Cabral, 87, of State Street passed away on December 27, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Carlos Vargas Cabral.  

Born in Feteira, Faial, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Margarida (Gomes) Contente.  She is survived by her children: Stella Borges of Bristol and Charles (Cathy Medeiros) Cabral; grandchildren: Nicole (Greg) Borges-Devoy, Stephanie Borges, Kendra (Nico) Cabral-Apici Kelsey (Tucker Taylor) Cabral; great grandchildren Wyatt Devoy, Cody Devoy, Elaina Apici and Leonardo Apici and her brother Manuel (Austilia) Contente.  She was the mother-in-law of the late Debra Cabral and sister of the late Maria Silveira.

Mrs. Cabral was educated in Portugal and employed by Robin Rug and Magic Carpet for over 40 years before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4th, 9 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Prayer Service at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
