Maria Veloso

Maria Donatilde (Hilario) Veloso, 84, of Fatima Drive, passed away on May 30, 2023, at Crestwood Nursing Center.  She was the wife of the late Manuel Veloso.  

Born in Água de Pau, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Evangelina (Damasio) Hilario.  She was the mother of Lourdes (Leonard) Moreira, Luis (Maria) Veloso, Olga (Paulo Jorge) Leitao, Jose (Andrea) Veloso, Lori (Michael) Bento, and Debra (Marco) Rodrigues.  She was the grandmother of Christopher Moreira, Tanya Moreira, Jessica Moreira, Jennifer Kuhl, Stephen Veloso, Brian Leitao, Joshua Leitao, Nathan Veloso, Logan Rodrigues, Jacob Bento, and Zachary Bento; great-great grandmother of Elyana Moreira, Khloe Moreira, Bryce Ferreira, Addyson Ferreira, and Dante Leitao. She was the sister of Maria Dimasio, Julietta Sousa, Fatima Froias, Isabel Medeiros and the late Manuel Hilario and Gilbert Hilario.

Mrs. Veloso was educated in Portugal and employed by Converse, I Shalom, and Premiere Thread before retiring.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 5th, 8 – 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
