Maria Filomena Moniz, 83, passed away on April 16, 2022 at AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center.  She was the wife of Jose M. Moniz.

Born in Rabo de Peixe, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Margarida (Figueiredo) deMedeiros. She was the mother of Margarida Andrade, Ana Bisceglio, Maria Faria,  Jose Edmund Faria and the late Filomena Suriel and Mario Faria.  She was the grandmother of Jason Andrade, Eusebio Andrade, Shane Andrade, Tony Bairos Jr, Steven Bairos, Justine Faria, Jose Edmund Faria Jr, Jessica Faria, Paul Ramirez, Edgar Ramirez, Shannon Lopes, Taylor Faria and great grandmother of Sierra, Aleha, Sylas, Arya, Layla, Ayla, Hudson, Javien, Javani, Alianna, Arianna, Crystal, Aaron, Tony, Alexander, Kaylee, Eslie, Isaiah, Kaleb, Noah and Emari.   She was the sister of Maria Bernardo, Inez Mendonca, Mary Lou Cardoza and the late Jose deMedeiros.

Mrs. Moniz was educated in Portugal and employed by Carol Cable before retiring.

Her funeral services will be held Thursday, April 21st, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home,  367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
