Maria J. Pacheco, 88, of Bristol, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at home, on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024. She was the wife of the late Gilberto M. Pacheco.

Maria was born April 7th, 1936. She was the late daughter of Vicente and Isabel (Sousa) Medeiros. Maria leaves behind four children: Vicente (Rosa) Martins, Carlos (Lucia) Pacheco, Antonio (Donaria Benevides) Pacheco, and Maria (Alejandro) Gonzalez; eight grandkids: Roger Martins, Paul (Nina) Pacheco, Vera Pacheco, Rob (Diana) Pacheco, Ana Pacheco, Kaitlin Pacheco, Rick Gonzalez, and Jeff Gonzalez; and 4 great-grandkids: Giovanna, Gianna, Giovanni, and Arianna.

Maria was a great strong woman, wonderful mother, and grandmother. Maria loved being surrounded by her family; it made her heart so happy to have everyone all together in one room. She was loved by all her family and friends. One of her favorite things to do was to take photos with her granddaughter Vera and watch every Portugal game with her daughter Maria and grandson Rick. We have wonderful memories that we will cherish forever in our hearts, till the day we meet again.

Her funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 24th, 9 – 10:30 AM, at the George C. Lima Funeral home, 367 High Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
