Mariano Machado Obituary

Mariano Oliveira Machado, 67, of Tiverton passed away on May 12, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.  He was the husband of Maria Eduarda (Oliveira) Machado.  

Born in Pico de Pedra, St. Michael, Azores, he was son of the late Joao and Maria Jose (de Oliveira) Machado.  In addition to his wife of 46 years he is survived by his children: Mark Machado and his fiancée Abagail Crider of North Carolina; Jennifer Renchen and her husband Luke of Tiverton; and grandchildren: Alexia Machado, Taylor Machado, Cristiano Machado, Mateus Machado, Avery Machado, Keegan Dutelle, Luke Renchen Jr, Cruz Renchen and Kinsley Renchen.  He was the brother of Natalie Pacheco of Bristol;  Alda Amaral of New Bedford; Manuela Machado Fitzpatrick of Bristol; Jean Gibbs of Walpole MA and the late John Machado and Lucia Machado.

Mr. Machado was educated in Portugal and moved to this country in 1968. He worked many different jobs, including landscaping  and at Viti Inc before he retired.  He was a devoted husband, father, and  grandfather.  He was an avid gardener and loved helping family and friends alike, unless he was watching “Sporting Clube of Portugal” play.  He sadly missed their Championship game.

His funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 19th, 10 AM from the George Lima Funeral Home 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church 577 Wood Street.

Calling hours are Tuesday 5 – 8 PM.
