Mario Da Costa Medina

Mario DaCosta Medina, 80, of Wood Street passed away on February 1, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.  He was the husband of Maria de Jesus (Avelar) Medina.  

Born in Sta. Cruz, Flores, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio Sousa Medina and Lurdes (da Costa) Medina.  He was the father of Lucia Costa and the late Thelma Rodrigues; grandfather of Cieria Costa, Marisa Rodrigues and Derek Rodrigues and great grandfather of Everly Thel Rodrigues.  He was the brother of Saul Medina, Ernesto Medina, Jorge Medina, Salme Mateus and Luis Medina.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Portugal and Canada.

Mr. Medina was employed by Pearson Yachts before retiring.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 5th, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
