Mary Neves Obituary

Mary Isabel (DaSilva) Neves, 90, of Perry Street passed away on January 4, 2023 at Rhode Island Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Gilbert Soares Neves.  

Born in Relva, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jacinto and Maria Lidia (Janeiro) DaSilva.  She was the mother of Gilbert Neves (Vera) and Lydia Serpa (the late Rusty); grandmother of Vanderley Neves, Kevin Neves, Russell Serpa Jr, Christopher Serpa (Alex); and great grandchildren Mila Serpa and Rowan Serpa.   She was the sister of Adriana Hilleman and the late Humberto DaSilva and Natalia Harkleroad.

Mrs. Neves was educated in Portugal and employed by P.F. Industries and Silver Creek Manor before retiring.

Calling hours will be held Monday, January 9th, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
