Nancy Lee Hendrix, 88, of Barrington, passed away on August 10, 2024, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice. She was the wife of the late Arthur Warren Smith for 41 years, previously living in Sarasota, FL.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter E. and Mildred E. (Brooks) Rohrabaugh. She is survived by: her sons David “Mark” (Leslie) M. Hendrix of Bellville, TX, and Keith (Ellen) W. Hendrix of Bristol; grandchildren David, John, Douglas, William (Alexis), Katherine (fiancé Jack), Alessandro, Christopher, Francesca (Thomas), John, Lucas, Olivia, Sophia, Collette, Noah, Alison, Julia, and Ethan; stepdaughters Laura (Albert) Cupo of Stanford, CT, Wanda (John) Forlivio of Darien, CT, Lenore (John) Crosson of Suffield, CT, Maryann (Brett) Mahlen of Orland Park, IL, and Gail Smith of Canton, CT; and close friend Albert Kutenplon of Barrington.
She was predeceased by: her first husband David R. Hendrix; and her grandson Keith David Hendrix.
Nancy graduated from high school in Baltimore. She attended the Baltimore Secretary College before working as an executive secretary for USAA Insurance for 20 years. Nancy enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing tennis, and picnic dinners on the beaches.
