Norbina V. Arruda

We are sad to announce the passing of our loving mother, Norbina (Peixoto) Arruda, 90, formerly of Bristol. Norbina passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving children, on January 1, 2026, at Crestwood Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the beloved wife of the late Aristides Arruda.

Born in Ribeira Quente, São Miguel, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Germana (Vieira) Peixoto.

Norbina was deeply loved by her children: John Arruda of Bristol, Rusty (Maria) Arruda of East Providence, Paul Arruda of Bristol, and Ana Paula (Mark) Denis of Rehoboth.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: David Arruda, Michael Arruda, Justin Arruda, Dereck Arruda, Haley Arruda, Abby Grace Arruda, Mason Morehead, Cole Morehead, and Ella Denis; and her great-grandchildren: Faith, Aubrey, Lucas, Oliver, Jaden, and Lylah. She is also survived by her sister, Liduina Medeiros of Bristol, and was predeceased by her siblings, Maria da Conceição Couto and Carlos Peixoto.

Norbina was a devoted mother and wife who took great pride in everything she did for her family. She loved being a homemaker, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Norbina’s unwavering strength, deep faith, and boundless love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass on Friday, January 9, at 10:00 AM, at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
