Owen E. Trainor III, 84, of Bristol, RI, passed away on July 16, 2025, at home.
Born in South Kingstown, he was the son of Owen E. Trainor II and Mary E. (Ventura) Trainor. He is survived by his children: Aelis Kennedy, Katherine Trainor, and Sean Trainor, and grandson: Rilon Trainor.
Owen was a high school graduate of De La Salle Academy in Newport, Rhode Island., and went on to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in history from Providence College. A lifelong Rhode Islander, Owen was deeply rooted in the Bristol community, where he was a beloved and familiar presence. Whether he was teaching in a classroom, engaging in conversation with a friend, or striking up a chat with a stranger, he had a way of making meaningful connections. Owen’s love for music, especially the piano, was another of his lifelong joys. He was a passionate piano player and devoted volunteer.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 - 7 pm, at the George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, and are also invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 23, 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
