Paul A. D'Amico Sr, LtC Army Retired

Paul A D'Amico Sr, 85, passed away on July 3, 2022. He was the loving husband of Ann C. D'Amico (née Calderiso) for almost 63 years. A long time resident of Bristol, he was born in Pawtucket, RI.

Paul retired from the Army after 36 years as Lieutenant Colonel. He received the Meritorious Service Award and Army Commendation Medal; he was XO of Artillery Battalions and East Bay Commander during the Blizzard of 1978. He was a Life member, with over 40 years of service, with the Dreadnaught Hook, Ladder and Hose Company No. 1 as well as a Life member of the Division of Emergency Medical Services. He served as Treasurer for both organizations. A retired Senior Probation & Parole Officer for the state, his many other accomplishments included Bristol Town Council Member, Civil Defense Director, Vice Chairman Bristol Democratic Committee, Scoutmaster, Executive Director of Rhode Island Law Enforcement Committee, Fourth of July Committee membership, Grand Knights Bristol Council Knights of Columbus, Life Member 4th & 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, past commander & State Secretary ITAMS, past member Lion's Club, past member Bristol Rotary Club, member La Bella Sicillia Society, Secretary Bristol Rod & Gun Club and member Bristol Lodge Elks.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his 3 children, Paul D'Amico Jr, Michele D'Amico and Bethany D'Amico Stutts; 4 grandchildren, Rachel, Joe, Andrew and Paul III; 3 great-grandchildren and his sister, Nance Grasso of Florida.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, July 11, 2022, at 11AM at St. Mary’s Church located on 330 Wood Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
