Paula Herr

Paula A. (Costa) Herr, 69, of Bristol, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Newport Hospital, after a seven month battle following a stroke.

Born in Bristol, RI., she was the daughter of the late Alfred "Squashy" Costa, and Barbara (Cadima) Costa. Paula is survived by her beloved daughters Ashley (Brian) Leitao, and Laura Herr (significant other John Rodrigues); her mother Barbara (Cadima) Costa; her sisters Barbara (Charlie) Mello, and Cindy (Mike) Guida; her brothers Alfred Costa (significant other Connie Oliveira), and Michael (Nicole) Costa; her nieces Kathryn Guida, Stephanie Costa, and Megan Costa; as well as many other family and friends.

Paula was a graduate of Bristol High School, class of 1971; and she was a devoted employee of Raytheon. Paula enjoyed spending time by the fire with her family, camping, Bristol Fourth of July Festivities, and she loved animals.

Donations may be made in Paula's memory to the Bristol Animal Shelter, 10 Minturn Farm Rd, Bristol, RI 02809. Services are with George C. Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, Bristol, RI 02809; where the family will receive friends & family for visitation Friday, July 29, 2022, from 9am-11am; celebration of life will begin at 11am. Burial will be private.
