Stephen Medeiros Obituary

Stephen P. Medeiros, 78, of Goulart Avenue, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was 31-year companion of the late Maria Alice Portela (Bettencourt), before her passing in January 2018.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Irene (Machado) and Antonio Medeiros. He is survived by his daughters: Tanya Kavanagh and her husband Timothy of Bellingham, and Melissa Medeiros and her husband Carlos of North Attleboro; and granddaughter Lily Kavanagh. Stephen is survived by his brothers: Guido Medeiros and Greg Medeiros; and sisters: Estelle Banks and Betty King.

He was a graduate of Tri County Vocational’ s Electrical Engineering program. He was employed as a machine operator for many years before retiring. Steve was an avid musician and enjoyed playing the guitar solo or with his fellow band members and musicians whenever possible. 

Steve’s friends and family invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 16, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
