Tamy Lee Karnes, 64, of Warren, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the partner of Roland Laflamme.
Born in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard Johnson and Lorraine (Santos) Park and the stepdaughter of the late William Park. In addition to her partner, she is survived by her children Dwayne (Chelsey) Karnes of Rehoboth, Joshua Karnes of Bristol, Bethany (Benjamin) Lemoi of Riverside, and Steven Karnes of Warren; grandchildren Marley Karnes, Baylee Lemoi, and Stella Laflamme; sisters Celeste (David) Pacheco and Linda (Domenic) Franco of Bristol; her former husband James Karnes of Bristol; niece and nephews Kristen Pacheco, Jarrod Pacheco, and Tyler Franco. She was a loving and devoted mother, Grammy, Mimi, and aunt.
She was predeceased by her brother Richard Johnson, Jr. and her nephew Aaron Franco.
Tamy was a 1977 graduate of Bristol High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 20 years as a member of the cafeteria staff at Kickemuit Middle School where she was known as the 'sandwich queen'. An avid bird watcher, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and was considered by her family to be a baking connoisseur.
Calling hours will be held Friday, May 10th, 8:30 - 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
