Vincent Vasco Teixeira, 92, of Hope Street, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the Veterans Home surrounded by family and his loving caregivers. He was the loving husband of the late Dottie (Tavares) Teixeira.
Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late John and Angelina (Camara) Teixeira. Known as Vinny or Tex, he was the father to: Paul Teixeira, Jonathan Teixeira, Kate Teixeira, and Kristy Duchene. He is survived by his grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, Jonathan, Andrew, Brett, Blake, Bailey, Derek and Carly. His son-in-law Edward Sanchas of Bristol was like a son and best friend to Vinny.
Vincent attended Colt Memorial High School and contributed much to the Bristol footprint as a local contractor. He then spent years working at Kaiser Aluminum in Portsmouth. Vinny was always ready to lend a helping hand, always ready to fix or remodel his friend’s homes. Saint Mary’s Church was a special place where he faithfully served as an Usher for many years. And how he loved Schnauzers, Remi and Ella will miss him.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 31, 10 AM at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Rhode Island Veterans Home Activities Fund, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI 02809.
